there is no motor associated w/ the hatch lid... what switch are you talking about, the hatch release lever by the gas door lever by the driver side?

First off what years of teg are you talking about, 94-97 you have to pull a thing. like how you open your gas tank. For 98-01 hatch unlock the door, do back put your finger in feel the switch and move it to left or right i forgot . cant belive i forget when i do it everything .

Perhaps there is an actuator on the rear latch that works w/ keyless entry or something on the 98+ Integras, I dunno... but I assure you the maintenance light reset button could not possibly have anything to do with it, it's just a wierd coincodence.

there is definitely no link between resetting your maintenance light and your hatch not opening

It sounds likes the actuator like patrick said. I was told by acura that it is common for those things to go out.

My '99 Integra hatch will only open with the key. The lever won't open the hatch for me. I wish someone could tell me how to fix it... don't feel like paying Acura to do it.

Instead of a lever inside by the gas door release, the 98+ has a release under the edge of the hatch itself. I'm guessing from what has been said here that it also has an actuator like the door handles for remote trunk release function.

On my '99, if I turn the key in the door lock and hold it for a second or so, I hear the other locks open. At this point I should be able to use the lever inside the hatch handle to open the hatch. I cannot.

I'm pretty sure I hear the lock in the rear make noise, so I think it's trying to unlock, but just isn't.

Sigh...

my 99 teg's hatch wont open sometimes. The switch will just get stuck sometimes and the hatch wont budge.I just hit the unlock and lock button a few times back and forth on my keyless entry and that does the trick for me anyway.
