ok why do i have to change so much when i do a 93 ls engine in my 89 crx si???
ok... why do i have to change my injectors, distributer and ecu if i get a 93 ls engine in my 89 crx si?? im saying... im getting a complete swap... everythingggggg that is in that car engine is going to mine.. in the engine.. so why in the world would i have to change ecu and injectors and distributer if they are already with the engine and working with it???? what is changing in my car that isnt in that one??? i know i dont have the same obd as that car... but the engine is all going to be the same obd as the 93 ls motor... there will be no parts from my motor other than the harness and i was told that matches right up.... so why change all this other stuff???? help pleaseeee ive been trying to figure this out for ever on my own... and just isnt making any sence...
You will need to change the injectors and distributor if you are going to use a 90-91 LS ecu to run the 93 motor (which btw will probably be the easiest route to go). If you want to use an OBD1 ecu, then you will need to use an OBD0 to OBD1 wiring harness conversion. The reason you need to change the distributor and injectors (if you stay OBD0), is because the OBD0 parts are not compatible with the OBD1 ecu. Your car will not run right, if it even starts. If you use the OBD1 ecu, the easiest route is the OBD0 to OBD1 wiring harness conversion (IM blown90hatch if you need one). You really don't want to rewire your car with the OBD1 harness. That will be a real pain in the you know where.
ok that doesnt make sence... im using everything from the 93 ls... even the ecu... and what parts dont work with the injectors and disturbuter???
if you are using a 93 engine with a 93 ecu it will be obd1. your car is an 89 so its pre obd. you cannot run obd1 and pre obd at the same time. you have two reasonable choices, convert the engine to pre obd or convert the car (via blown90hatch's conversion harness) to obd1. the most simplest way i can explain why the ls ecu wont run in your car as of now is because of the harness of your car won't plug and play into the ls ecu. you do not have to change the distributor or injectors if you run obd1. if you decide to stay with your current setup (pre obd) then you will need to change the distributor and run a pre obd ecu. when staying pre obd you cannot us the 93 ls ecu.

Thanks, I guess I wasn't clear enough......

ok so when you say the setup... you are talking about my wiring harness right??? so all i have to do is get a wiring harness that will work with that engine and then i can use the whole complete engine with ecu from the 93 ls??

this is what it will look like if you run obd1. you have your 93 ls ecu. a conversion harness (again i stress blown90hatchs, ive never seen anything negative against this guy) then you have your dash harness that would usually hook up in your STOCK ecu. then it runs through the firewall where it connects to your stock engine harness. yes, you use the original cars engine harness and add wires as needed.
