shifting auto tranny?
Someone told me theres a way to shift an auto tranny like a manuel. is it true? like shift through 1-2-d3-d4. if it's true can you redline each gear or will it eventually shift for you?

just ***** up the tranny faster....there no point in shifting in an automatic. thats why they call it automatic, it shifts by itself

How's a chip going to help with manually shifting an auto?? Also, most of these "mugen" chips are garbage and not worth it.

make sure you got all the parts for ur swap b4 u blow ur slush box. that's the only thing i regret about blowing my auto tranny
And even if your in 2nd, s3, or s4 it will rev higher but it will eventually shift into another gear, mine did shift at redline though if i stayed in 2nd too long or s3 or s4 and eventually in to drive. I actually punched a small hole in the tranny b4 it finally died. If u really want it to go out just manually shift every chance you get and race, and pull a bunch of e-brakes and neutral drops and then when it's been slipping for a while rear end some one, that's what finally ended it for me

Every single one of these guys that posted did not know what they were talking about.
FOR THE 10000000000000000000000000 time
*Note* I have manually down shifted my auto for 3 years+
Manually shifting your gears on an Auto tranny WILL WILL WILL NOT Destroy or Speed the death of your Auto tranny. It does ABSOLUTELY nothing PHYSICALLY different to the tranny than you flooring it and letting the ECU downshift for you
Neutral Drops and FLOORING the car period is what speeds the death of Auto trannies
There is no sense in Upshifting any of your gears. The Auto ECU will Rev to your Rev limiter when the car is floored and shift. No benefit from upshifting. 3rd Gear the auto will shift into 4th gear premature. So if your doing a 1/4 mile run leave the shifter in 3rd gear
Benefit lies in Manually Downshifting your gears. When you manually down shift and floor it .. it does it IMMEDIATELY. When you Floor the car and the ECU downshift fors you.. it takes a slight second longer.
Downshift and Floor it at these intervials for the biggest torque jump on the auto tranny
4th @ 2500 RPM -> 2nd gear
2nd @ 3000 RPM -> 1st gear
Of course you will need to upshift before it hits fuel cut off
