Default Set timing?

Can someone please in EASY STEP BY STEP explain how to set timing. I mean from putting on the timing belt and everything...plleeeeeassse would help out alot...oh and i have no timing light.

i'd pick up a set of feeler gauges so you can do a valve adjustment after you put the belt on.
