New spark plugs, change oil, new rotor & dizzy cap.

If you wanted to do a FULL 100k tune-up, it'd be oil pump, water pump, timing belt, plugs, wires, and change the oil.

The thing i would do as well is bleed the brake fluid, flush the coolant and bleed the clutch fluid and change the tranny fluid as well...

but that's just me

When I 1st got my teg, I did a complete tune-up with oem Acura parts ($160) + shop-time ($50)

total $210

cap, rotor, plugs, wires, pcv valve, oil, oil filter, air filter, tranny fluid change, radiator flush.

I suggest all dealer parts.

goodluck

yea, like a few people above have said, you would be better off doing the "tune-up" yourself. oil and filter is a no-brainer...most of the other stuff is just a matter of getting the parts and taking a little time to check all your fluids and what not. i personally think it is better to do it yourself rather than take it in and have joe-bob tell you that "oh, this needs to be fixed, and oh, this is about to go out..." you know what i mean.

oil pump? Who the hell rips you off?

And wires? Do you ever measure the resistance?

By the way, if you are asking to do a "tune-up" on your car, you obviously are not taking proper care of it. Read your owners manual of what to do and when. It is called the recommended maintenance schedule, and is all you should ever need. At least my customers are, including all the ones over 600k.

Wow you're a douchebag. You officially added NO useful information to this thread.

Who rips me off? Sorry bitch, but i do my own work myself. Also, i merely stated that changing the oil pump and spark plug wires as a "couldn't hurt anything" measure, because the guy obviously sounds as if his engine hasn't been worked on recently

Yes, it deff could hurt. His wallet.

Hell, why not change the engine.....couldn't hurt......

And adding "no usefull info" is better than adding the wrong info.

There is just no need for some of the items listed.

The proper items to replace are writen in black and white in the owners manual.

If the car has not seen work in a LONG time. Just start by doing a Type 4 inspection, which includes...

-plugs (if non-plat), rotor, air filter, oil change, valve adjustment, cabin filter (if equiped) and service the brakes front and rear and flush tranny fluid.
-coolant (if not long life) should be changed every two years, as well as brake fluid.

-everything else that gets done on a Type 4 is just inspections:
-PCV, cap, wires (measure resistance and moisture test), belts, exhaust etc etc etc.

I've never heard of changing an oil pump as part of a tune up... is it even on the scheduled maintenance list?

Actually is the water pump even on the scheduled maintenance list? I know most people do it during timing belt change because it's right there anyway, but is it actually a maintenance item?

<-- 160K on original water pump, 70K on current timing belt will be changing both this summer.

Oil pump? No. Hell, I have never had to change one even on an engine rebuild (every measurement shows the same spec as new).

Water pump is not mandatory on the T.B. change. Some shop do it automatically. We find that the water pump will last at least one T.B. change. But, 90% of water pumps will crap out between the second and third timing belt. So we recommend changing the water pump with every second timing belt change. This is assuming that the coolant is changed regularly.

depends how bad you get ripped off.
Your looking at between 100-250, but if your going to somewhere besides a dealer(or even a dealer), ask for some of the old parts for "just in case times"...I had troubles with my old accord with the dealer not replacing what they charged me for...

~100 bucks if u do it urself, and u should, its not hard at all...just do oil change/ oil filter/ plugs/ cap/ rotor/ fuel filter...i basically understand those are the basic parts for a tune-up..u can go a lil farther and do a coolant flush, brake flush, change ur trannie fluid, but since ur tight on money do what i said before..
