how high can a gsr rev to?
stock- the cams are pretty much maxed out at that point- time to get some real cams in there.... especially if you want more power at a higher RPM

Is that turbo'd and ctr cammed? Either way, I wouldnt take it over 9200 personally and that would only be with stage 2+ cams, stage 1s are probably good to around the 8800 mark. Turbo'd cars usually dont make good enough power(especially with ctr cams) to rev past 8500 or so...unless you put aftermarket cams in(read...turbo cams).

There is a lot of information about this in the all motor forum. Honestly, the stock gsr cams are already falling out of their powerband by 8100 rpms, in fact the CTR/ITR cams don't even peak that high, but they don't really start to fall out until their redline. Revving any higher is just unnecessary wear on the engine. If you plan to take the gsr over about 8400 rpms, then I highly suggest upgrading to a different valvetrain. And as far as aftermarket cams and valvetrain are concerned, each aftermarket cam will be different so i suggest you find dyno charts for any that you are considering for your engine. Also use the recommended valvetrain for any cams you might use.
There is no reason to take CTR's that high...he is just asking to bend some ****.
What kind of turbo setup will you run? You'll be ABLE to rev plenty high, whether or not you want to will be up to you and the dyno.

98- CTR intake cams have 3 degrees more durration, 98+ CTR and ITR are the same...
Im building an "NA Monster" and I only plan on reving it to a maximum of 9500 with toda valvetrain, Toda Cams and some other goodness... the main thing is that a stock bottom end is not meant to rev that high

taking something to 9500 and making power to 9500 are 2 different things. no way in hell a CTR cam makes power till 9500, you can rev all u want, but its useless, as for your question.. gs-r cams make good power up too 7500-8000 no need for anything more.
