Default Wire in parallel

ok soo i'm looking for new subs. i'm lookin at the 10" alpine type r 2ohm... they are rated at 300rms and 1000 peak. now if i wire both of the subs VC's (DVC's) in series, 1 ohm per sub right? then wire two of those puppies in parallel i should have 2 ohm load? now i wanna run a class d mono amp. now since the subs are each gonna want 300rms and 1000 peak. should i find an amp to fit that, or when i wire them in parallel will the power need to double? IE 600/2000? thanks

also a reccommended amp? i hear the quality of alpine is good. mad billz tho.

currently i got the older kicker comps (not VR), in a bandpass and a jensen 125 x 2 rms 500 peak... weak.

thanks

Get an amp that will do 600 watts rms at 2 ohms. jbl 600.1 is cheap and good.

If you have a DVC sub (2 ohms per coil) and hook the coils up in series you will end up with 4 ohms total impedance. If the DVC's are hooked up in parallel, then you will get 1 ohm total impedance.

Same with two subs, if both subs are 4 ohm and are wired in series, you will get 8 ohms total impedance, and if the same two subs are wired in parallel you will get 2 ohms total impedance.

yes. this is what i meant. i got dyslexic and switched them.. i'm gonna wire the DVCs in series to get 4 ohms, then wire the subs in parallel to get 2 ohms total. and if i can find the JBL amp that looks sweet. but whats the peak on that? i would need 2000watts peak.

Ignore the peak rating. It doesnt mean jack in the real world. The only power rating that matters is watts RMS.
