doing mini-me w/ z6, a question about the head itself
ok i bought this head today, then after i bought it the dude tells me that he thinks he was having problems w/ it when it was in his civic...
1st off he friend the piston rings, thats why the head is off. but he tells me that he was having problems w/ his cylinders filling w/ oil...
would that be because of the head or what? i want to put it on starting tomorrow hopefully, so could someone help.

Wouldn't a cause of the cylinders filling up with oil be the rings themselves? I'm sure there are other things, just shooting my nonsense in here. Other than that, maybe just a gasket/seal?

thats what i was thinking, the rings. but i just want some pro. opinions cuz i dont know about this stuff all that much yet. thanks.
could be the valve guides...
I would take the head to a machine shop and have them clean, inspect, pressure test, and vaccum test the head before I put it on my car.

most likely valve seals.
When rings go bad the oil is burnt, it doesnt just sit in the cylinders, but if the seals/guides are bad, then when ur car isnt running the oil seaps into the cylinder before it is all drained back into the pan.
