Default car shaking under acceleration(searched)

when i accelerate from a stop, it shakes a lot and you can hear everything like the dashboard rattle. also happens a little when i shift into second but not in any other gear. i'm thinking its either a broken engine mount or the axle. but from records of before i owned the car it says "replaced left side cv boot, replaced axle boot both sides(outer)" this was done in dec 2002. So im leaning more on the side of the engine mount. i took it to a mechanic and he said the front mount was going out, but i dont think he checked my axles. its weird too, when i'm in reverse and i have clutch in and roll down my hill, my car shakes a little too. what do you guys think? axle or engine mount? also, would a broken tranny mount cause this? i want my car to run normally!! thanks guys

sounds like the clutch. I had this similar problem with my accord lx. Whenever I had to start off in 1st, the clutch would chatter and felt like the car had hydrolics on the front wheels. The only solution besides replacing it was to dump the clutch or to drop the revs really low before releasing the clutch.

I doubt it's the mounts, otherwise at idling you'd feel some shaking, but based on what you're saying, it only shakes when you accelerate from a stop, or during the releasing of the clutch while in 1st or reverse gear.

hm..i drove it with the hood up and i see the motor bouncing up and down in first and beginning of second gear...so i think it is the motor mount. besides, if it was something with the axle, wouldnt it make a clicking noise when i turn? thanks!

Not the inner CV joint. If it was a bad inner CV, it would shake under acceleration and no clicky, clicky...
