Keystone OEM knockoff VS Honda OEM bumpers
How do the Keystone OEM knockoff bumpers compare to the OEM Honda bumpers in terms of quality, fitment, and life span? Specifically the 98-01 rear bumpers... Thanks
i fix a bunch of hondas at the collision center i work at. the only thing i can tell you, is to stay away from aftermarket bumpers. they really do suck in fitment, quality, and durability. i have put on probably 100 aftermarket bumpers and have yet to find one that fits like oem. not worth the money you save in my opinion.
oem
aftermarket
oem
aftermarket
not all aftermarket parts are made the same.
The best thing you could do is ask the shop doing the install on their impression. They of all people should know how good their sources are.

Reason I ask is that an insurance company is claiming that they will not pay for an OEM replacement bumper for my '99 LS although their insured driver hit me and ruined my OEM one. Washington state law states that they can replace the bumper with one of like quality and style. I am worried that a Keystone knockoff is not of like quality

You as the owner of the car have a right to specify factory parts since it was factory parts that were damaged. Now I doubt they would pay for a brand new OEM bumper, and would probably get one from a salvage yard, but still it's probably better than an aftermarket bumper.

I never had a problem with Honda aftermarket bumpers or fenders. Sometimes the hoods seem alittle cheap (lightweight though).
Do you have the number where to get the aftermarket rear bumper for the integra? I have been trying to find one for my Integra, all they stock are the 94-97 style.

From what I know, unless your car is very new (less than 3 year) they can give you remanufactured / rebuilt / refurb bumpers, but I would not take aftermarket one like they mentioned. remanufactured one should be ok.

When my car was hit in the driver door last year, I insisted all factory parts be used. The other guy's insurance wouldn't pay for a brand new door (since the door that was on there was 9 years old) but they did pay for a door and mirror, etc. from a junkyard, which was fine. It would have needed paint anyway so no biggie.

I've filed a complaint with the Washington State Insurance Commissioner's office about the issues I am having with Nationwide. They violated Washington state law by not keeping me informed of the progress of my claim and failing to return my phone calls for 5 months, as well as blatantly lying to me when they said that they would send me a check to cover the estimate I sent them in full, which included OEM parts but 5 months later when I never received a check and finally got in touch with them they claimed that they refuse to pay for OEM parts... They are sending me a check for the price of repairs + Keystone bumper and I am going to make their lives hell... BBB, insurance commissioner, writing to local radio and print media troubleshooters... Even if I don't get that $60 they had promised initially, they will end up losing far more in terms of business. Am I being vindictive? Yes, but I believe its justifiable
I guess I'll just have to cover the difference for an OEM bumper. Thanks for all the input everyone

Thanks for the input, on a side note, do you have any threads where you have posted pics of your teg? It's such a rarity to find pics of other ABP tegs
