Whats a average, and whats a good 60 foot time for a basically stock Type-R?

2.7 isn't too hot right?

I had snow tires on. I'm guessing that didn't help too much...
If I reved it at all before the launch I would just smoke them.

haha-- yep-- that'd do it!!

i cant wait to get my snow tires off-- i can barely launch at 1500...
and that by no means will get a guy 2 sec. 60 foots... LOL

2.1 regularly and did 2.0 twice.... Using Brigestone RE540 tires.
I cant even immagine how you did 2.7! Did you launch @ 8000RPM ??

Azenis are not exactly street tires!

Yeah, there was a time I pulled a 2.1 with the Azenis, being stock and the factory clutch (still good).

2.3-2.4 seems about right stock. best ive seen is 2.2. I take it easy on launches though since i get ridiculous wheel hop. traction bars in the near future should remedy that

also, I heard a general rule of thumb for most street cars that every 10th you can take off your 60ft, it can equal about .3 off your ET. general rule of thumb, depends on other things, but you get the idea.

i havent drag raced much i pulled a 2.3 once but i also done 2.7 those wondering how its possible.

this is how i did it i first lauched at 7k with street tires (note i own gs-aaR my redline 8k not 9k) i was still a noob tires were spining wheel hop and i didnt let off the gas enough but o **** redline came up had to shift o crap bogged down to 4kish maybe even a lil lower. I heard the secret to getting good 60 was to lauch all the way up there so that wut i did.

Mine was on snow tires. The first time, I launched from idle and bogged. I did this because I know they would spin otherwise.

The next time I lauched from 2,500 rpm and they just lit-up like I had 500hp. I had the gas half way, and when they started to grab I put it down to the floor and they broke right back lose again. lol

I just put my RE010's on, so I'll have to head back out.

Let me know if you wanna hit it up again this Friday Jon. I got the axles today, and am picking up a drivers side engine mount, mines torn, on Tues. I plan to go to VMP again Friday, and Rusty, the guy with the Neon R/T at the Autox wants to head out with us.

I might be down too, we'll see if i've unglazed my clutch by then

this time watch out. no hardtop, no 3/4 tank of gas, and i may actually pull the spare and adjust the tire pressure, if i'm feeling spicy!

13's here i come!

gotta love stock goodness.

I could pull fairly consistent 2.1's on Potenza S03's (if the track was prepped right) and have nailed a few 2.0's on them as well (195/50's by the way).

JonD, it might be worthy to mention it was chilly and your tires were ice cold. I'd worry a lot more about teh sn0 tires being bad for launching than your skillz.

Yeah, the launch can be a lot better than 2.7. 2.4's are bad already. 2.3 with bad/average tires...2.2, 2.1 w/ better tires.
