If nothing else, remove the bolts holding the engine to the mounts. Be sure that the engine is properly supported with either an engine hoist, or a suitable jack. Don't forget the two smaller mounts on the underside of the car.

You will need to remove the rear one from the engine, it wouldn't hurt to remove the two main side ones. The lower mounts shouldn't have to be removed.

Not when the motor is out of the car already.

Anyway, I would suggest putting the motor mounts back on the engine and unbolting it from engine and transmission itself. I believe you will only need a breaker bar and a long neck 17mm. Remove the 3 bolts from the front stopper bracket on the transmission, and remove the 3 bolts from the rear transmission mount.

I would advise if you're going to be using a engine hoist to lift it from the car that when you wrap the engine and transmission, don't wrap it so the weight is even. Wrap it so that the engine is going to be at least 8 inches higher than the transmission side because the clearance to remove on both sides is going to be fairly slim. That way the first thing to start lifting will be the engine side to help slant the angle and clearance of the transmission coming out. When the transmission is getting near the passenger side body push the end of the transmission near the middle of the body which should allow you to clear everything without any problems. Same thing with putting it back in, support it more on the engine side so the transmission is going to be the first thing entering the car.

If you're lowering it to remove from beneath the car, remove the 3 rear transmission mount bolts, not the single one from the car, then remove the front stopper bracket bolts, and the 17mm bolts holding the transmission and engine.

Silly question, but the axles are out right?

IN my experience with doing this the toughest part of the whole thing was indeed mating the tranny to the motor. Once one of the two where already in the car. Many talk about P-I-T-A
