Grinding Reverse when cold ????
yes i did search, and none of them seemed very helpful, but ya like the title says, sometimes when i shift into reverse and engage the clutch it makes a grinding noise and the car goes nowhere, but i only seem to have this problem when the cars not warmed up? can anyone help?
yeah mine does that too, i just put it in first and then roll forward like an inch and then put it in reverse again and that always works for me
mine does that as well, and its got 180k on the motor/tranny. My buddies 00' DX also does this and its only got around 50k or so. Its a honda thing! lol

i've driven toyotas, and it does the same.. if u actually read the honda manual, it says to throw it any forward gear before u put it in reverse. this is what i do: clutch in, shift to 3rd then reverse!

I've noticed this does actually help quite a bit.

I shift all over the place and make sure everything is smooth before I engage reverse.
The reason is that reverse does not have a syncro and sometimes the gears are not properly lined up hence the grind.
