Default trying to install an OBX intake manifold on a '00 DX

My wifes little brother got an OBX intake mani for his car. the kid that sold it to him told him that it would work, even though it was originally for his EG. There are 2 lines with coolant running into the stock mani. Looks like they just run coolant into it. My question is what do those lines do and why does it look like they just dump into the intake. Could I just tap some fittings into it for him. The kid is barely 16 and bought the mani for a $100. Or should I just take the manifold from him and install it on my hatch

thanks

u could tap lines into it, but it seems like too much trouble for whatever possible gains it can create, i would just throw it on your hatch, but i wouldn't expect much

i am assuming you are talking about the thing i circled in the pic where coolant runs into the head?? the manifold pictured below is a Z6 by the way. i dont know why the manifold wouldnt work on a d16y7 if it works on a eg?????? it should bolt up and that coolant line should be located in the same place maybe i misunderstood your question

OBX = not worth the effort in my opinion....most likely will be a power loss over a factory manifold.

there has been some discussion on http://www.alternativehonda.com
about the OBX manifold. i dont know if anyone has come up with any dyno results with it yet though. so if you go to that site and search around you might be able to come up with some info
