Default Clutch pedal cliicks when released half way

Okay, this problem started today. I was driving and when I was almost to my house. I noticed when I released my clutch, I heard it like click and I could feel it on my pedal when it did this. So I did it over and over and sure enough, right about half we released it would CLICK.

So I had my dad get under the hood while I pressed the clutch in and out to see if he can here where the clicking is coming from and visa versa. So we both found that it sounds like its coming from or near the slave cylinder. Even when it clicks you can feel the click on the Slave cylinder.

So we take the line off, and the bolts holding the slave cylinder. Take it apart and notice the grim inside of it, so we clean it well. Put all new fluid in the resevior and bleed it until all new fluid comes out.

I pump the clutch a bit, no noise at all. Start the car, take it for a ride, I even notice my clutch engages alot sooner than before, which was good for me. Well after like 10 minutes or so, it makes the click noise again when half released, and my clutch feels like it engages in the same spot as before.

So do you think I need a new Slave Cylinder or a rebuild kit for it? or any other ideas what the problem is, thanks!!

I thought this was a TO bearing problem? My stock clutch did that for awhile, replaced with aftermarket clutch and problem went away. Still same slave cylinder. The clicking is making a comeback though. :shrugs:

You didn't mention lubing the fork after cleaning the slave cylinder. If not, make sure you lube it up. That was the source of my clicking....lubing it cured it.

I've recently developed a similar problem. My clutch pedal actually gets stuck about 3/4 of the way from the top when released. After a short while it finally pops up the rest of the way.

Any suggestions as to my problem?

Yea I have that too, and as far as I know, its a common thing you live with. I cant see it doing any harm, its just the rod of the slave cylinder hitting the outer wall. Not like its going to punch through some day.

During the winter time or when temps dropped to freezing, mine would squeak or click if i depressed the clutch. This would go away if the car warmed up to normal temps, and makes no sound in warm weather. I'm still on my stock clutch too, 73k miles and counting.

I always get a weird feel in the pedal while pushing it down and also when releasing. It feels like compressing/releasing a rusted spring. I don't know what it is, but I will try changing my fluid along with my master and slave cylinders. They are probably very dirty/clogged.

Shortly after i bought my first integra the clutch used to click about half way up also, i brought it to a mechanic, he told me i needed a new clutch, i thought '**** that theres only 12k miles on the engine/car' and brought it to another guy who greased/lubed the fork and the clicking went away

I just noticed that mine is starting to do it. So far I can only feel it in the pedal but I don't hear a noise.
