Muti CEL codes, Misfires on all 4 cyl and engine misses on JDM K20A
My car is a 2002 RSX Type S with a JDM K20A, JDM 4-2-1 manifold, injen intake and a bunch of other little doodads. I'm running either a Type R ECU or a Hondata 4 flashed USDM ECU, both ECU's throw the same code.
For the past few weeks my car has been running like ****. It was missfireing all the time and occasionally sounded like a tractor when trying to accelerate. It had no power. Then it would run fine. Then, a few days later it would start missing again. I changed the plugs, cleaned the injectors and nothing helped. Then by chance the day I was taking it to Acura it seemed to go away alltogther. I was happy but reset the ECU in an attempt to make it happen again. Well I didn't and I brought it to Acura showing no code.
Today it started acting up again and I took it to a local shop on my lunch break, we put it on the code reader(MAN I NEED TO GET ME ONE OF THOSE! AWESOME!) and got:
P0300 — Random Misfire
P0301 71 Misfire Cyl. 1 Or Random Misfire
P0302 72 Misfire Cyl. 2 Or Random Misfire
P0303 73 Misfire Cyl. 3 Or Random Misfire
P0304 74 Misfire Cyl. 4 Or Random Misfire
all of those X2
**** **** ****!!!
The owner of the shop noticed that my MAP was reading a little low so we reset the code and bumped the MAP voltage up a little and now it's running %100 better. I'm still hearing an occasional bump bump coming from the engine but it's soo much better. I hope it's a permedent solution.
My post here is to get you guy's thoughts on what is going on with my car and what can be done to remedy the situation if it comes back again.

Thats the same probelm i'm having in my ITR except im pulling cel code 71 and 73. I figured it was just the spark plugs and wires but i guess not. Well goodluck man and let me know if you find whats up with our engines.

I've had the motor in the car for almost a year. It's never given me problems before.

We don't have the same engines.

Not likely, there's big differences in our engines.
