please help, cv joint 90 lx
recently i started hearing a clicking noise when i turn and concluded it was the cv joint, i was planning on buying new halfshafts from autozone and puttin in myself w/ help, would that be too hard of a thing to do at home?? so after reading this site i read the reverse circle test , and i went to a parking lot and reversed in a circle, and i couldnt hear the noise any more, so i got under it and noticed the driver side cv boot is torn, does that mean the joint is messed up yet, if i replace the boot soon, and could i replace the boot myself??any one please help
obviously the sooner you replace the boot the better, cause rocks and dirt can get in there and ruin the joint. but it wont get fucked up right away--replace those and check around the area and see what else is going on
you can do anything if you know whats going on down there--i had my mechanic friend do it, only because i had never attempted it before. do you have a chiltons and a good working knowledge of the front end area? if so go for it. i dont know your skill level so i cant really answer your question
