Default Advice - I busted my shifter

Hey, I was goin to shift and snap, the shifter broke right at the bottom of the threaded portion ( to aluminum short shifters).

The question I have is what shifter to use now? What kind of shifters do all y'all use? (ya ya I know C's is the best)

I've looked into the FastLine Performance Roadrace Shifter, but it prob won't be available for another 1-2 months according to HeelToe.

Thanks in advance

First of all you shouldn't be slamming the shifter. When you slam the shifter you can **** up your transmission also. You are supposed to guide the shifter firmly, not punch it in.

What?

Watch a racecar driver and tell me shifting is in the wrist....

At my first track event I was told you shouldn't squeeze or use more force then you can apply with two fingers and your thumb, like holding an egg. Shifting isn't supposed to be super crazy fast, its supposed to be a controlled movement.

I just installed C's driving position

OMG
i will never use another shifter
so crisp
the quailty of the parts is amazing
instead of pivoting on a ball, there is a spherical bearing there
the bottom doesn't use just bushings like the stock does, it has cartridge bearings
aluminum shifter bushings are supplied for the front stablizer bushing,
and the rear bushing is replaced with a steel bracket.

plus shifter only inches from the steering wheel
if you can find one, def worth the $$$$

wtf kind of writing is this? anyway, i don't see a need for a short shifter with the ITR gear box. i suggest you go back to stock.

Truly spoken like someone who hasn't used the C's DPS. Every single last person who has tried my shifter has said "holy ****".

Well seeing as how the C's are not made any more - your options are:

1. go back to stock
2. Fastline

here's my review of option #2

Hey Phatty, did those bushings break in any yet?

ps I got your v1 safe and sound, thanks for the loaner. We should hook up for a drive on the weekend if the weather co-operates.

Try the Skunk2 shifter. It's made of steel and not aluminum and they cost around $100. I just ordered one so I'll see how it feels.

There's no time or knowledge gained at the track by banging gears

Cant finish a race/session if your shifter is busted anyways..... driving skill/experience will always finish ahead of equipment abuse
