Default Damn Oil =(

Ok i have checked EVEYTHING under the hood that would possibly make this damn oil light come on...NOTHING...so i figure its gotta be the computer can anyone help...ANYONE

Hm..maybe your oil level?
When is thr last time you changed the oil?

The computer has NOTHING to do with the oil light. There's an oil pressure switch on the block, a light bulb, and some wire inbetween. There's no computer in that circuit...

Check you oil level.

If that's fine, check oil pressure.

If that's fine, check/replace the oil pressure switch.

If that's fine, see if you bottomed out and dented your oil pan.

Autometer mechanical oil pressure gauge ... the "oh ****" light comes on when its too late anyway.

yea my car is doing the exact thing as yours is.....i posted and they said that it could be the oil pump is clogged but idk if that helps you any

the light on my car comes on when its humid outside.. the rubber boot on the sensor wire came off when i changed it and the humidity gets in it and makes the light come on... and im 100% sure on that


is it humid outside when it comes on for you?.. or is it all the time?


the light will be on solid and bright if its a real problem
sometimes if the sensor is bad it will be really dim.. also sometimes with the humidity it is dim.. u never know... oil pumps dont usualy go out tho
