Default How did this happen?

I had oil leaking from the cam gear side of the engine, I think I found the problem

Whats the best way to put this gasket on the valve cover? little taps with a Rubber Mallet?

Um looks like you left the same valve cover gasket on for too long. FYI...honda says to replace it every time you take the valve cover off...us HT people re-use that damn thing like 15 times. Here's an idea...get a new gasket, put RTV sealant around the bottom, and try not to take your valve cover off as much.

Don't go crazy with the RTV. I only use it in the honda specified locations, which are those flat spots right around the humps for the cams. Other than that, make sure the gasket isn't dry rotted or anything. Also, make sure you have your valve cover bolts on tight enough, but not TOO tight or you WILL break them

It snapped after 1 week of use? That is random. I bet that when you put it inside your valve cover and put the valve cover back down, the gasket came out of the groove of the valve cover and got caught between your head and the valve cover and ended up cutting it. That's is my best guess...

definantely get hondabond. I used another silicon gasket sealer and it worked like crap compared to the hondabond. I still saw a slight amount of oil leakage around the edges, but with the hondabond there is none. Also all you need it to put the sealer on the flat sports where the cam seals are. No need to put it all around the gasket.

its only 10 ft/lbs.
