Actually you can get some items from Summit. It is also possible that several others have them too. There is a Moroso oil pan and distributor available.

I've heard that the Oil Pan doesn't fit very well. You may want to double check that.

An oilpan that will not have a screwed up tap for the turbo line.

also, if you could elaborate what makes the moroso a P.O.S. that would be good as well.

I believe the Moroso oil pan fit the 4th gen Prelude without any problems.

I think it fits the 4th gen fine, but for the 5th gen you have to trip the rear engine stiffener.

You'll have to go custom. I don't think any other shop at this time makes an H22 pan other than Moroso. I think Z10 and maybe and couple others have it on thier websites that they are working on them, but nothing else is in the market at this time.

There is a guy on this board, Doctor CorteZ, that mods H22 pans for somewhere around 70-125 bucks. IM him if interested. Here's the recent link:

if you tap the stock one, you risk having an oil leak...so aftermarket ones that have openings for oil return would be a better option.

just braze your stock one.. unless your lookin to hold more oil... i heard the moroso isnt the best with the oil pick up.. but that was back in the day... might have changed now... if not that wouldnt be too good for corners... drag sure....then again i think now they come with new pick up

anyone in here actually have a moroso pan????

didnt think so, well, i do

the drain bolt strips easily b/c it is a course thread in a peice of aluminum. a helicoil will easily fix that, and it is no longer an issue.

as for the other holes leaking...... never have found that to be a problem, of course, i was smart enough to use teflon tape when threading something in that had the potential to allow fluid to pass thru the threads

now, i will say, you MUST properly torque the pan down in proper sequence and use a good gasket between the pan and the block, other wise you could develop a leak there.

other than that, i like the pan, your oil change goes from about 5 quarts to about 7, but the new pickup fits down in a baffle and u wont have to worry about running the car dry unless u just have a massive oil consumption problem

I know, I know. There is a lot of BS out there. I'm pretty sure though from all the posts I've read here and at PO.com that the Moroso pan is alright for the 4th gen and basically you have to go custom for 5th gen.

I bought a new 5th gen aluminum pan that I'm planning on getting baffled, so once I finally get that done I'll post up the pics.

Was part of the first shipment that Summit Racing sent out. I had it, returned it, as it was obvious that the original design (unsure if they've revised it since the first run) would not fit on a 5th gen w/o cutting the rear stiffener almost completely off.

Ok, ok, let's get something straight. You had a Moroso pan on your 5th gen? When did you get it (timeframe) and you didn't have to modify the rear engine stiffener?

If not, this is good news then, cause that would mean that Moroso redesigned the pan to work on a 5th gen.
