Default Street Tire?

I just want a good street tire, in conjuction with begining AutoX. I want something that sticks. I am going to buy some 94/95 ex 7 spoke alloys for my 96ex. I have those 195 bike tires now but I don't know how wide I can go. I hear the Yokohama ES100 is a good tire. But whats everone's opinion on a good size and brand for the factory 15" Thanks

Get a set of Kumhos. 711s, or 712s should be sufficient.

did a search on TireRack & Discount Tire for ya on two optional sizes that'd fit on ur 15x7...all results off TireRack...Discount didn't have crap worth mentioning. I put # next to tire by what I'd rate them.

205/55 R15: (wider than stock)

1) Bridgestone Potenza RE750 $91

2) Yokohama AVS ES 100 $77 < best bang for buck...if u can't get Potenzas

215/55 R15: (widest you can get most likely on 7" wide rim)

3) Kumho Ecsta 711 $51

I am in the same process of choosing tires for my new wheels which are 16x7 but i am either going with azenis or i may try the new Nitto tires. I have NT555's right now and i like them really well, but i have some time to decide while i wait for the wheels.

From my experience nitto's don't last too long even on the streets and 712's have a good traction/durabilty ratio. 711's lasts the longest but maybe not enough for autox. Damn cheap though.

i have 215/45/17 Nitto NT 450s right now. have had them on my enkeis for year and a half, with them resting in the winters. they held up exceptionally well for autocross last year, only did a few though. they have minimal wear and so far no complaints

But back on topic, the reviews at http://www.tirerack.com are fairly accurate and they have really good prices
