At how many gallons does the gas light come on in a '97 Civic EX?
Back when I just got my '97 Civic EX brand new, the gas light would come on frequently when the fuel is low. For the last 5 years, my gas light doesn't come on at all. I usually fill up between 10-11 gallons every time I go to the gas station. 3 years ago, I decided to test my gas light by driving about 380 miles on the tank and my light finally came on (as I was pulling into the dealer for my regular maintenence). Since then, the light has never come on. For all you 96-00 Civic EX owners out there w/ the stock cluster, how many gallons do you use up before your gas light goes on?
not sure exactly..... i would guess around .75 - .5 gallons.... i don't think i've had the gas light come one in my car, i know my neighbor did and it took about 11.xx gallons...
so 11.9 - 11.xx = i'd say about .75 - .5 gallons

usually when it comes on you dont have much left, the sensor may also be going bad. Not sure how many gallons it comes on at though
Gotta be a gallon or more. I used to let mine come on almost every time before I'd get gas just so I could check my mileage and I would never get more than 10 gallons in it. Ever. And I have an 11.9 gallon tank.
