Default Hatchback worth the investment?

Hey everyone, i need some help on this. I'm looking at either a 1992 or 1993 Honda Civic Hatchback either DX or CX...i haven't looked at the car close enough. I'm gonna estimate that it has about 150,000 miles, but it runs great, has new breaks, new exhaust and only what looks like surface rust on the rear part. What do you guys think this car is worth, and what would be a good deal? Thanks for you help.

Where's the investment part?

I agree 1500 is a fair deal for a DX, maybe a bit less for a CX.

Just usual maintenance, wear/tear items over time. Brakes, belts, timing belt, water pump, plugs, wires, cap& rotor. If the car is "well maintained" most of these items should be replaced already.
Are you buying the car because you need it, or are you trying to make money on it?

You should buy the book. Cars for Cash. That would tell you what cars to buy for an actual investment possibility. And as usual, always expect a major mechanical problem. Get somebody to inspect it beforehand. It's only like 25$ for a pep boys to do this locally. I don't know about other higher quality places.

Before you go spending a dime on that car, check to see just how bad the rust is. I'd inspect the entire under carriage to see if there is any rust there. Also when you say rear part what are your refering to? Hatch? Quarter Panel? If the rust can be removed without replacing a quarter panel then I'd probably go for it. If not save your money.
