Anyone have this kind of intake???
I want to know if this is better than the "normal" short ram cai, etc.?
Will it work with 4th gen. H23A?
Any info is helpful...thanks

My guess is that it should fit. It may take a little custom modification. The only problem i see with those front mount intakes would be with sucking in water. They come with this little plexyglass shield that you can put in front of it when it rains, but then it would be defeating the purpose. A few years back on a TV show, they put this intake on a civic and ran it on a dyno...i believe the civic gained about 4hp with it. And that was sitting still. It is made to perform as a "Ram AIR" setup. I am not sure of it dependablity or how it would perform. All i could say is get it and try it out. However i will always recommend AEM CAI.
The general consensus is that those front mount designs end with so much restriction & pipe length that it wipes out any gains you might see from a cooler intake charge. And, of course, unless you use the lexan shield, you're looking at lots of crap flying into your filter at very high speeds.
That said, I've never seen one dynoed before, so who knows.

seems like that would be great for an autocross event when your always moving and ****.. i dont honestly see why people have to roast on them all the time... its just another idea to get good solid cold air.. and what other people dont realize is... jus a rain drop or a dozen isn't going to hurt anything if you submerge it... then you have a problem..
My friend had one on his civic and it was fine not too big of gains though his AEM CAI was definately better. I wouldnt worry about the rain if you are a consious driver and dont launch through any puddles you are fine. Drops of water are not going to hurt it.
I'd recommend the Weapon-R over that one any day.
Who knows how strong that material would be if it got wet ...
If its questionable do you really want to chance ruining your car ?
Stick to safe proven products.

ummm...cars are always moving whether you are autocrossing it or not...
And I would 'roast' on it because an intake pipe that long would make throttle response SUCK and make you lose power most defintely.

UUGGHHH dude i bought it....BIGGEESSTTT WASTE OF MONEY!!! you get good gains in the higher bands esp if you have VTEC...Looks good and all...But ugghh that shield sucks putting on...i took it off...I would go short ram or CAI...Seriously, get an EBAY pipe...a pipe is a pipe but with that one, the pipe is soooo small...
Save your 200 whatever bucks...i screwed up and learned the hard way...
If anyone is interested in the Filter, i still have the filter in mint condition with the shield...

Kind of a dumb question, but everyone said it would suck in water blah blah blah, would the AEM water filter thing ( i forgot the name of it, prevents water from going through the intake) fit on that and prevent drowning your motor?
yeah it will help but it will defeat the purpose of getting the intake...It blocks some air coming in so just say screw it...plus the distance from the intake filter to the mani is like running a marathon...it will be hot and slowed down by the time it hits the engine...I played with it and the pipe itself was always so hot as compared to my new intake...
I'll buy the downpipe if you still have it. Are there any dents or dings in it?

i dont see how people think that the "faster you go the more air you get in" or the like in thinking..
its obviously a inferior design, look how the intake tube is sideways.. there is no way air is being rammed into it.. its more like high velocity air hits the intake filter, then bounces back causing air restriction

Your talking about the AEM Air Bypass Valve. Im not sure if it would work tho.
