Okay well first off a quick history: Brother in Hawaii (Marines) bought a 92 swapped b16 w/ turbo. Came back to IL. then picked up a WRX, so i got the hand me down. I was excited but the car is alll messed up...not even driveable...I only know a lil about imports so i need help...

FIRST OFF I'M IN THE PROCESSING OF FIXING THE STARTER AND ALTERNATOR...THINKING OF GETTING A GSR ALT/ AND TYPE-R STARTER. BUT I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM NOW. I NEED A TURBO TIMER AND BOOST CONTROLLER. I HEARD THAT I COULD BUY A TURBO TIMER W/ BOOST CONTROLLER. WHICH IS A GOOD ONE TO BUY?? ALSO I NEED AN V-AFC BUT DUNNO WHICH TO BUY EITHER...SHOULD I GET SPEC 1 OR 2? WHATS DIFFERENCE AND DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VAFC AND SAFC? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!

i emailed you a link to the helms manuals... it will have all the information you need for you handme down....i have the wrx manual too... but i cant get it linked or burned for you... but i put it out on the internet to hundreds of people so its out there somewhere...

 

i have an avcr for sale....let it go for 350 plus shipping...

 

avcr?? would i still need one if i got a turbo timer with boost? thanks for the Helm manual...!

it depends on how much you want to spend, boost controllers go from 100 to 500 dollars, turbo timers are less then 100, and it doesnt matter what brand, get what suits you.

s-afc
controls the injectors and how much fuel is put in depending on the pressure sensor.

v-afc
same thing but also controls the v-tec engagement

s-afc 2
i reccomend this one, newest model, I am using it now works well.

blitz and greddy make good boost controllers, read around the fourms and see whats the + and - of each.
