Pro/Cons of using afermarket Honda OEM Parts....
Just have a question...
I got a 99 Civic EX...and i just bought this recently...
when I bought the car, the owner had informed me that what needs to be done is that the car needs new pad and rotors...
so seein that I have to do this, I figure that while chaning the pads and rotors, I am going to upgrade the master cylinder too a 15/16th master cylinder and of course change the brake fluid too some Motul 5.1 brake fluid..
well my question is that I dont want to be scoopin out the used market for a master cylinder that could be the wrong one or possibly faulty..or go too acura and get raped like **** on price...
so my question too everyone here would be that are there pro/cons too going too an aftermarket OEM parts, well in this case a 15/16th master cylinder?
what is your opinion on this?
thanks everyone for there help...

first, aftermarket oem is an oxymoron. it's one or the other. you're using oem, just not for your car.
go ahead and put a teg master cylinder in there, won't do any harm really. Not really a need though unless you're road racing or autocrossing.
second, DOT 5 fluid is ****. not only can your stock lines not hold it, it's not worth it, and it's no different than DOT 4. A good DOT 3 fluid, or hell the generic Ford HD fluid works great. Just make sure you bleed it all.
good luck
