Leaking master brake cylinder - repair or replacement?
1992 Honda VX hatch
I've dealt with a lot of different things while working on my vehicles over the years, but I have never had to deal with a leaking master brake cylinder. It is running down the face of the brake booster.
Is there a simple seal replacement or rebuild kit? I'm usually an OEM guy and I know the OEM master brake cylinder is quite expensive for a car worth 3-4k.
If there is not a simple seal or rebuild kit then what is the interchange on this part between other years/models? It is a vx, which tends to always have some sort of slightly different part so I always have to double/triple check before interchanging parts. I don't mind a used OEM one from the yard. Are the aftermarket (napa, oreilly's, autozone etc..) any good or worth a D***?
Thanks for any input

No repair kit. I would just get an aftermarket one and call it a day bro.

I've purchased repair kits for wheel cylinders and calipers, but you also must hone the cylinders clean and smooth to do it right.

Just for ***** I went on advanced auto and got a quote for both the master cylinder and booster, for your car, for $95.77 shipped, with promo code trt41. It takes $40 off any $100+ order. Might as well get both and get it over with.

I have done calipers but not cylinders. Rockauto usually has the cheapest repair kits. Tedious work but a lot cheaper than a pair of calipers.

I would go ahead and take everything apart first like pulling the MC off and inspecting the brake booster and make sure no liquid got in it
