Default Problems converting to obd1....

Well im in the middle of converting to obd1. ITs been a bitch.

Ive tried all the basic things.

I changed the dizzy, fuel injectors, spark plugs, plug wires. pretty much everythign that has to do with spark and fuel. Still wont start.

acts like it wants to go but wont. I checked the plugs and they were wet. but no fire.

The engine harness came off a running car that was previously converted to obd1. So it doenst make any sense to me.

THe conversion harness is pretty much self explanitory so i dont see that being a problem as far as the engine starting.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be?

help..

Got all the grounds on and secure? Is the ignitor and coil good? At least you can rule out the wiring...

ehhh boomslang. I bought it back in the fall before i did research. I woulda asked ya questions but since its not your harness i dindt feel worthy

I ended up getting sent my harness..had no instructions in it. Then last week after having the harness for about 5 months i started the conversion and it made no sense to me (harness). So i contacted boomslang and apparently it was made for a jdm crx. So none of the pins lined up right. So anyways i got rustin to overnight me the right one which was a pretty stand up thing to do...being i sent him mine the same day he sent his to me. So i got it the day before he got mine. So that was cool. But after reading the directions and what not. everythign seems to be right...thats why this makes no sense.

haha werd on the firing order. I had it wrong at first and switched it up and still nothing. Ill check the dizzy plug thing out but it came off my friends crx that was running so i dont think it would be wrong.

well I spent 3 hours on the phone yesterday with two different boomslang customers so I guess it really doesn't matter anymore who's harness you bought as long as we can get your car running correctly. Apparently you receive pinouts when you get the harness correct? Have you confirmed them? With the guy I helped yesterday, his pinouts were wrong. Confirm with me where these pins go:

OBD1
B11
B12
B13
B14
B15
B16

Tell me where those on the OBD0 side go both on your wiring pinouts and also confirming them on the harness.

Jason

AGAIN ONLY NEEDED IF YOU SWITCH TO THE OBD1/2 INJECTORS. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHANGE OUT THE OBD0 MPFI INJECTORS AND RESISTOR BOX TO RUN AN OBD1/2 ECU.

I agree with blown90hatch

If you bypassed your resistor box without putting in obd-1 injectors and hooking them up properly, thats probably why your car won't start. My obd-1 conversion only took me like 2 hours. Aside from that make sure you have a toggle switch hooked up, so you can check for engine codes, its comes in handy!

If you left your obd-0 inectors in there and took out the little silver box you better hook the box back up lol.

Yeah the engine harness i had already was modified to run the obd1 injectors. And i was using the obd1 injectors.

After i check out the conversion harness again im going to take my old obd0 harness and keep the resistor box and make my own engine harness.

haha very true. my car wont start also, and you can't believe the number of times i have switched those two wires around in hopes that for some odd reason it will start up. going to work on it tonight, so hopefully switching them up again will do something
