Default All you DPFI conveted to MPFI plaese check this out.

*** I'm sorry this is sooo long but it's alot so I spaced it out thanks*****

O.K. I've checked over some FAQ's and really just got around now to start re-checking the wiring mainly cause of some family issues. But now I have some free time. O.K. I own 2 91' Civic HB's both were DX models. O.k. My HB the first one I bought and use as my racer/drag and dump all my money into is my 91' HB with a B16. The other I bought from a friend he bought a WRX and sold it to me cheap it has a Automatic to manual conversion and also a DOHC ZC swap... this is my daily driver both are street cars but I drive the ZC as my beater car. so both cars have had the DPFI to MOFI conversion. Now here's the deal I'm a mechanic but I DID NOT re-wire either car. both cars were re-wired back 5-6 years ago unfortunitly my first car was the one thwe wiring got screwed by a so called performance shop.

You see I'm 21 now and I bought my the first EF HB back when I didn't know anything about cars ( i was 16 when I got my EF ) and trusted a so called performance shop to do the ZC motor swap and DPFI-MPFI conversion ( I use to have a ZC before my B16 ). The shop has a Hack they fucked my car up and robbed me basicly for a half *** swap. Well thats when I got fed up and started to learn about working on cars and leanring all about turbo's, motor swaps and building, anything and everything about imports etc. and thats when I became a mechanic but electrical work has never been my strong point but I do know. and now no one works on my own car or friends of mines cars but me and I haven't had any problems. so I learn ALOT quick and basic had to re-do the whole car (my first ) over including some of the wiring and even motor stuff. So now I tell everyone never take your car to a performance shop unless you've seen their work or REP. Best thing is DO YOUR OWN work that way you know what was and wasn't done and whoe to blame. So now I do a majority of work to cars of friends and have had no problems with any swaps, turbo's etc. anything I've done on their cars. The only problem is this shop messed up and has my wiring so screwed I don't know where to begin.

O.k. I checked the injector pulse with the injector lights ( you know the ones that plug into the injector connector to check to see if it's getting voltage ) and all injectors are getting enough power here's where I'm confused. the TPS sensor. I know the PRE-OBD DX's run the TPS reads backwards and the wires are backwards then the CR-X/Civic Si's. Now right now I have if you looking at the TPS it's the Green wire first , next the middle wire is the red with the green tracer which is the signal wire to the ECU, and last is the White wire. Now Suppolsy on 1.5L's this is how the wiring is for the TPS but on 1.6L's the diagram is telling me the White wire is first the Red signal still in the middle but the green is last. When I Re-pin the TPS this way for a 1.6L my car runs like crap and miss like crazy to the point I have to pull over and re-pin it so the green wire is first like the stock 1.5L. BUT I have a APEXi AFC in my car cause I turbo'd my old ZC and now have a B16 that will be turbo'd next week as long as I can figure this TPS BS out.

Here's the problem when the TPS wire wired and I mean at the connector like stock green wire first my car runs great no problems but MY AFC is telling me that at idle my Thrt is at 100% and at WOT my thrt reading is at 0% now the AFC should be reading idle at 0% and WOT 100%. When I re-pin the TPS For the So-called Si 1.6L way white wire first my AFC reads correct 0% at idle 100% at WOT but like I said my car runs like crap. I know my AFC is now broken. Supposlly when you re-wire from DPFI to MPFI you're suppose to re-wire the TPS like I said cause the DX reads back wards then MPFI. So whats the deal ? I looked at my other HB THAT I know for a fact was wired correct and right cause the shop that did all the work for my friend has a very very good rep. and does excellent work if I knew about them back when this all happened I would have had them done it but back then I knew nothing about cars.

But they have that carw ired the same Way the green wire first and I hooked my volt meter up to the TPS and at idle the voltage is 4.5 volts and at WOT it's at.5 volts but the car runs fine but like I said it's reading backwards. I've tried using 4 different TPS sensors and all read the same except I haven't tried a stock DX sensor all have been B series and ZC's. What I'm I doing wrong ? If I did it today ot would be right but this they have wires going everywhere into the stock harness and it looks like I'm going to have to rip out the whole harness and fix it myself unless there's a better solution. I know I wired the AFC right and I know they didn't do something stupid like hook the MAP sensro connector to the TPS which some people do. So what should I do. Can I trick my AFC to read it the right way. Thanks everyone for taking the time to read this I know it's alot but I'm ready to put my turbo on but I can't tune my AFC when my TPS is reading backwards when the AFC changes and corrects the Air flow/fuel but thwe throttle percent.

I've never had this problem before cause all swap and mod.'s have been on EG's or newer I'm the only one of ALL the pople I know into cars that running EF's and I didn't do the wiring I have done all the mechanics on my car so I don't know what the hell they did. my car runs fine when the TPS is backwards but runs and misses like crazy when it's reversed. If I re-wired my car myself I would know something but like I said this was done5 years ago by a half *** shop. I'm open to advice. I even went to my friends at the honda dealerships and they looked at me like I was crazy. Thanks to everyone who post helpful things.

I'm sorry I know I added stuff and babbled. Basicly My TPS wires go Green , REd, White which is the Stock DX 1.5L cause DX TPS's supposely read backwards then Si's. Well when I switch the two wire at the tps the green and white wires LIKE ALL DPFI-MPFI conversions site say to do my car misses and runs like crap and my A/F Ratio gauge goes crazy reading the misses. When I have White wire first , then red wired in the middle that doesn't change , and then green the way Si's are my car misses/mis-fires but I know it's missing not mis-firing. and my AFC read correct 0% at idle and 100% thrt. aty WOT but when I switch the wires back to stock the car runs great no problems but my AFC is seeing the voltage backwards. The AFC is seeing 100% thrt at idle and 0% at WOT but the car runs great and my A/F ratio gauge is reading fine. is that better
