Default H22A swap problems

I installed a 1997 H22A in my 92 si. I am using a modified prelude distributor (1997 OBD2 converted to OBD1). When I crank the car, it doesn't want to start. It seems like there is something preventing the crank from turning. When I remove the spark plug wires from the distributor and crank the car, it cranks freely. I think that it may be the distributor. Does anyone know what it may be? Has anyone modified the OBD2 distributor to OBD1?

are you getting spark. we just put my vtec f22 into my freinds accord dx and we had to modify the wiring harness to produce spark on the dirtibutor. If you car wasnt vtec before swap you might have same problem.

dammit i am having the same problems except my car is a 97 honda accord lx i blew my h22a block so i went out and got a 93 h23a long block from the junkyard runs and everything it was a automatic so long story short we used everything from the h22a distributor , power steering , alternator etc thermostat and thermo housing and the damn thing will not turn over i mean it cranks but the coil is getting no spark we believe the wiring that we did might be wrong does anyone have a wiring diagram for a h23 vtec ???? or is it the same as a h22a ???? guess if i was you with the prelude si it would be ok because you are going from a obd I harness to a obdI block and obd II head help help help

anyone want to email a brotha with some advice hit me at cjb1025@yahoo.com

If your saying it does not spark.
then it's problably your coil pack.
Brand New runs around 60$.
Try it out.
