Wanna see what my DSM freind pulled off? =O
First of all his setup:
1st gen eclipse bought for 1700 with needed clutch
ACT 2600 Street disc
Custom 2.5" exhaust
TurboXS boost controller
hacked Maf
chipped ECU
Small 16G
SAFC2 (just installed)
The first run was a few months ago right when he swapped on the 16 with every mod except the SAFC. As you can see he goes WAY lean up top.
Now get this...
His chipped ECU shows a reading of knock thru the stock boost gauge on the dash. After swaping in the AFC just a few days ago, he spent just a day or so street tuning it just buy the knock readings from the dash while delivering pizzas for our Dominos store.
The second graph (red) shows the first pull of the dyno sesion with NO tuning! Perfect 12:1 ratio! ******* blew my mind! I'm just sitting there watching the graph as he rolls thru 3rd gear (12.1:1....12.0:1....12.1:1....ect)...

His 450cc's are running at like 90% duty cycle or else we would have pushed it further (was running 16psi on 91 octane).

im always surprised how much tuning can be done with dsms with-out the use of a wideband....
i have a friend that runs 11.90's with nitrous and turbo uprade (as well as other things such as injectors, and 3inch turbo back), never had a wideband hooked up once. and all he had for tuning was an afc... ecu's that are made for boost are nice
