fuel pump doesnt run so car wont start help!
I have a 92 civic hatch with a b18c in it. I have had problems before this but now its worse. Today i took a ride to madison which is about an hour. When i got half mile from where i was going i got a cel which happens to be the #1 code primary 02 sensor. I get to my destination turn the car off. Turn the key back on and the humm you hear from the fuel pump before the cel light goes out i do not hear. Try to start the car runs for two seconds and dies. Car then will not start. Wait a few min try again the fuel pump makes its humm and car starts and drives fine. This has happened in the past but only once in a great while and before i wouldnt get the cel. This car has a type r fuel pump in it but the car also has 232,000 miles on it. i have a new 02 sensor which i will try tomorrow but why is the fuel pump not priming when its supposed to? Any help would be appreciated.
They are like $60, its behind the fuse box (driver's side)
The way the guys at the Honda dealership do it is to take the insides
from the new relay and just pop them into the old case not bothering with unbolting it from the car...
When you get your new one,Look at the bottom where it snaps in..
It has two tabs which hold it in place..

Bought one and replaced it. We will see what happens. Drove home from work no cels and car starts and runs better than it has in a while.
