Torquing for ARP head studs... OEM or ARP recommandation ?
Ok I installed my stud...
in the ARP package, on a instruction sheet, they tell to torque to 60 pounds is that too much compare to the 53 pounds that Honda recommand ??
I torqued the 10 nuts to 60 pounds and it seem to be border line a little bit they way I feel it...
I used the ARP gray lube...

I've always torqued to the ARP spec..... you have to remember that these studs are a much harder material than stock.... so it should be expected to have a larger torque load..... 7 more lb ft isn't a lot anyway, my studs were something like 18lb ft higher than stock, which they were torqued to.... haven't had a problem

stock tq specs were 53lbs.
i call arp and they told me 60lbs with moly lube and 70 lbs with 30w oil.
call arp, they answer really quick.

When we installed arp's into my friends d16y8 we followed the manufacturers specifications.
but we also ran a tap through each hole to make sure each one was clean

You need to go by ARP's specs, I went by honda's and blew a head gasket a week later @ 18 PSI, then didn't learn, and blew another one. Finally torqued to ARP's specs havent had a problem since. The machine shop also recommended to use arp's specs.
