Default VAFC or Hondata for the following setup...

SMSP header
SMSP high-flow cat
SMSP Exhaust
Jun2/ITR Cam Combo
Skunk2 Camgears

Now, I know that the Hondata is a better tuning solution over the VAFC. However, I want to know if the power I'll get with the Hondata over the VAFC will be significant enough that the price difference won't matter. In other words... with such a mild setup, is it worth going with the Hondata?

With your current set-up a vafc isnt going to do much. If you plan on doing more to your motor which seems quite possible then you had mise well just save the money you would spend on your vafc and get a hondata. You'll thank yourself if you do so.

this is what i tell people....if you don't want the Hondata, think of what the cost of other tuning devices will cost. vafc-$200, fpr-$50, guage-$30, chip for your ecu-$75. and, after you buy all of those parts, you still can't adjust your redline or re-map any of your timing tables. you can only alter fuel. if anything, buy it, but don't install it until you've decided what more you want to add to your set-up. ooops...i didn't notice the JUN/ITR cam combo or the SMS header. ****, buy that Hondata and some injectors, fast.

A well-tuned V-AFC would certainly help. Hondata would help more, though.

Have you ever thought about an AEM EMS?

They're quite an easy install and more tuner friendly

As mentioned earlier, I'm probably going to need injectors as well. Is this necessary? If so, what are the best bang for the buck.
