Problem with car not starting, suspecting main relay
Ok, here it is. My car was running and I had the hoop open, tweeking things up. All of a sudden, the car just stalled and would not start again. The ECU is throwing a code 0 and I cannot hear the pump priming when turning to key to the ON position. I have not had the time to check the main relay, but I suspect it is defective. How many circuits are there in the main relay? Would the pump not prime and the ECU not get power at the same time? Or would only one circuit usually fail at once?
Anything else I might want to look at?

I had the same problem couple of days ago. My car cranked but did not fire up. My fuel pump wasn't priming and I wasn't getting spark. It turned out to be the ECU...what I did was check the fuel pump to see if its working, the main relay, the main fuse box, the under dash fuse box, the ignition switch and then used process of elimination to narrow down the problem. What I didn't check was the ECU. I just swapped ECU with my coworker and it fired up. Also isn't a code 0 a bad ecu? Hope my experience helps...
when i had my hf motor in the car i had the same problem. turned out to be the ecu was bad. bought another ecu for cheap, and car turned on perfectly. if you have a friend with an extra ecu try to borrow it and see if thats your problem. code 0 is a bad ecu like lassen768 said.
Before you replace your ECU...try checking all your fuses under dash and engine compartment...in particular the alternator solenoid, 2nd from the top under your dash...this is connected to your ECU and fuel injectors.btw, what were you tweeking?

If you were tweaking something with the engine on, is it possible that you either unplugged something or shorted out something?
If you are getting Code 0, then i suspect you have access to a scan tool? code 0 means no ECU
3 possibilities:
1. open circuit in battery circuit - blow fusible link, that sorta thing
2. ecu fuse blown
3. efi main relay dead - The main relay contains 2 individual relays. One relay is energized whenever the ignition is on. It supplies battery voltage to the ECU (computer) to power the injectors and also supplies power to the second relay. The second relay supplies power to the fuel pump. The second relay is energized for 2 seconds when the ignition switch is initially turned on and when the engine is running.
good luck

Thanks for your help guys. This is the second time this has hapenned. The first time it was the ECU so I swapped the ECU but that was not the problem. Turned out it was the alternator fuse.
