Default copper gasket spray?

I was just curious if anyone has had any experience with using copper gasket spray on headgaskets. I was planning on disassembling my factory headgasket, making it a 2layer.

I always you copper spray on my head gaskets. Just make sure the spray dries some before you bolt the head on. When it dries, it gets more tacky.

i hope u get a new headgasket and then pull the middle lawyer out, dont reuse ur old one. You really dont need coper spray on stock gaskets, even if you pull the middle layer out, but i just squirt it between teh two layers for ***** and giggles. I dont use it on the outer sides that mate with the head and block.

i've actually ran a stock gasket with the middle pulled out straight up, w/o any spray, for a good 10-15k and it held up fine as well. I put copper spray on the last one i put in, cuz i nicked the coating on one side slightly, so i just wanted to be safe than sorry.

The most important thing is to retorque ur head studs after you've ran your car through a few heat cycles. they do get loose
