Default What should i do about my prelude, keep or let go

*MOD IF THIS IS IN THE WRONG SECTION (PRELUDE ) please move at best judgment*

Hey crew, i drive a 97 SS (f*k), and it is only 57k miles and this is the second trans that is going on it.

The local honda replaced the pos, only when the check engine lite came on back in October last year. What happened before then was that it was making the weird noises and shifts as any SS trans would do when it is ******* up.

Then when i took it to them, they said that their tech (idiot) saw nothing wrong and cleared the code from the cel. Then i asked her many times, can i drive the **** with no problems, she said " sure, nothing is wrong and this and that", whatever.

Thirty miles later, the trans just made a loud "boommmmm" and i was revving and not going, it was dead. So, i called Frank the service manager and told him of what happened that same day in the morning, so he called Honda of USA or whatever and got them to replace the trans. Of course, after acknowledging that the people at his command didn't do this right, he made it look nice and easy.

Fine, now it is March of this year and the SS trans is going again at its weird shifts and casually noises. Based on this, i would love to take it back to them and say "here is your pos, fix it" but as we all know, they did the same before and most likely do it again, DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT MY PROBLEM.

That said, i am asking for opinions on this situation:

I owe 10,400 on it, it is worth 8,500 at most as a trade. I have tried selling it, and no luck.

So, what should i do besides "begging them to fix it"? Get rid of it, trade it for another car or what?

I have thought a lot about the trans swap, but it is not easy and it is costly. And if i decide to do, it'd be $2000 at a local shop and i don't know if it evens out.

WHAT DO I DO?

Damnit,

Get rid of it.

Screw the tranny swap, just trade it in for a better car.

If you wanna keep the Prelude, then trade it in for a 5 speed Prelude. Get a good, solid foundation to build upon.

i tried at one dealer and they only gave me $6800 at most. I was like "psssssssssffffutttt" no way.

So, i don't know what to do, and selling it won't work, i tried and they knew.

I hate being in this situation...Does it even out to do the swap against trading in for something better?

I mean, i only have three years to go on it and the dealers i have been to only want 4 years at ridiculous money a month or with a badass downpayment and still high prices.

I hate cars.

If you are in GA there is a Honda only yard that probably has one and all the rest of the parts you would need. It is called Honda Parts Connection. Their number is (770) 831-7679

If you're in Georgia, that's a good place to start, but be aware that they are ******** up there, and their prices are pretty steep.
