127hp. You can't hear it that well, but who cares, that's not what it is for.

Not as powerful as the DOHC and you can barely hear the vtec engage.

That depends on what you do to it.

definately... stock, its difficult to hear it engauge... but i have a D16Y8 with just the basic intake and exhaust setup... and it roars pretty loud... since ive put the exhaust on its been a lil bit more difficult to hear, its still there but, the exhaust drowns it out a bit since there is no vtec on the exhaust side... with just an intake its very noticable

also, as far as power goes, its good bang for the buck if you turbo it...

Oooh I love that sound. Even in my automatic it is a beautiful thing. You have the stock HP #'s on the d16y8 by chance?

i have d16y7 but the head is a y8. i also can barely hear the vtec engage. but she does get up and go. i agree with the fact when you havea full exhaust system you will hardly hear vtec. but you will feel it!

Well I know a Civic EX around here that has ONLY AEM Cold Air Intake and it has a D16y8 motor with NO exhaust at all and you can hear him from a good distance.
