Default DIY: what are you using for pipe couplers?

Besides expensive silicon adapters what are people using for pipe couplers? I'm looking for something that can stretch between different diamiters (ie; 2.5 -3 1/8). People mention using radiator hosing but the auto part stores claim that 2.5 ID hosing doesn't exist.

I have found that belt hosing works very well and is not to expensive but it won't stretch at all. I bought 3' for $50 from Napa auto parts. Thanks guys.

some people use plumbing connectors from home depot but they'll bulge out really bad at 10psi and pop quite often at 15psi.

i went to the local diesel shop and bought nomex hose by the foot for cheap.

Will nomex stretch between different pipe sizes?

not really and you dont really want anything that will stretch between pipe sizes either. anything that's elastic enough to stretch a 1/4" or more easy enough to go on the larger pipe will probably balloon up on you under boost and not last that long.

I bought my silicone couplers from roadraceengineering.com...I actually bought it by the foot...$25/foot is not too bad, compared to pre-cut pieces.

well i guess since we're on the subject AGAIN

just to be on the safe side, would it be okay to spread a lil rubber cement on the piping before putting the hose on there? whether it be silicone or radiator hose?

i just dont want something thatll eat the hose or just cause it to act weird...yeah itll probably be a pain to get it off later. any info.. thanks

You guys go through so much trouble, when it's so simple. You'd think of all the forunms on honda-tech Fi would have the least tight wads

Like Viren said atpturbo.com has very nice prices on precut connectors

Im running thier connectors along with T bolt clamps and I have never had a pipe blow off.

Thier connectors are only $6 a piece.
