More "hybrid" action. I finally got around to puting the radaitor that was in the GSR that I parted out. No more joke for a radaitor. Overall it went in pretty good. It was kinda hard taking out the old brakets, but after about 20 cutting wheels for the dremal, the old brakets were removed.

My freind helped me by welding on little plates on the back to mount better, when we welded the plates onto the lower radiator support. Once we got it in there, we had to quickly fab up some top mounts because the location for the civic/sol raditor is not the same for a GSR. We were doing this all in the shop of my freinds Dad's machine shop where they make giant air ducts. So we had a **** load of tools at our disposal, and a **** load of scrap sheet metal, but no skill for fabriacting. So the mounts are uber ghetto. Function over form I guess. The radaitor will pretty much not move, where with the stock mounting on the sol radaiator, it moved a little.

Uber ghettoness

So I would like to make the Ghettoness a temparory thing. Anyone know the proper way to make the top mounts.

 

use some fiberglass man. can shape it how ever you want.. its strong... and then can paint/sand however you want. and if it were me, throw some metal rods under the glass for more support.

but yeh nice rad!

 

i have an integra radiator on my EG and used stock GSR brackets it fit just put it in place and DRILLLLLLLLLLLLL TIP DRILLLLLLLLL

Mine have to bend down about an 1" to meet the support.

Some advice...dont open up a shop like hasport that makes motor mounts...i dont think you would be successfull

If you read the topic of this thread, I am asking for the correct way to mount this up. Yea it's ghetto right now, but at least I have can fab something up real quick for the time being. Alot of HT members want guidance one every little freakn step

hmmm, the EK top core support must be higher and the lower's must be lower because on mine, I put the mounts all the way at the bottom, and the thing still is an inch and a half taller then the top core support.

Why were you running a full size radiator with a NA d series? Seams odd. Are you planning on swaping or turboing?

edit BTW, you need too clean that engine bay. That things dirty! Simple green is your freind

no **** , im just stating my opinion

 

i dont care what my engine bay looks like with 396k on the chassis as long as it runs it works for me. my stock radiator blew and i picked up this brand new gsr one for $55 from a local ebayer whos item didnt sell it at auction. i plan on in the future turboing the dirty D and then an H swap far later in the future

i used the exact instructions from http://tech.hybridgarage.com/tech/jsrad/jsrad.html and those are for an EG

 

i refered to those as well as a diffrent link that had even more pictures for doing this. I welded the brackets instead of using screws.

Integras only have one radiator fan stock dude... The other is for the A/C condenser.

 

I actually have both the AC and the normal fan still on there. What I am going to do, is wire the AC fan up to the AC button, so at the drag strip waiting line or road course, I can just push a button, and have a better cooling.

 

90-93 Integra top mounts work perfect.

factory fit with rubber isolators.

It wont really matter if the themostat doesnt open at a lower temperature. Also using the extra fan whenever you want will put an extra strain on the electical system so the engine will have to work a little harder anyway.
