HELP! "humm" noise after installing INJEN SRI
Alright, here's the situation. I just installed my injen SRI with 4th gen heatshield(metal) on my 03 rsx-s. This is the only and first mod on my car!
I've double and triple checked all screws and connection points, everything is tight.
Whenever I accelerate from a stand still, I can heard this noise coming from the engine bay. Sounds like 'humrkk' and the funny thing is it only makes that noise when I moving from a stand still. When the engine goes beyond 1500rpm, it goes away. Nothing on 2nd,3rd,4th,5th and 6th gear.
Could this noise be coming from the throttle body due to the extra air being sucked in? Or is it a common problem from the injen heatshield vibration?
plz help!! this is diving me NUTS!!! thx in advance!!!

I've tried reving the engine at a stand still and there's no noise!!
only when the car goes into motion...
i might try taking out the heat shield tonight and see what happens.

The heatshield may be wiggling its way loose again. It tends to happen only when the car is in motion and when your getting on the throttle. You may also want to check where the intake is connected to the throttle body. The rubber boot that keeps the intake connected to the throttle body tend to loosen up sometimes. It did for me.

ITS FIXED!!
The noise was caused by the DAMN METAL HEATSHIELD, I just removed it and took it for a spin, no more noise!!
The back of theheatshield was located so close to the steering rack/column so whenever I accelerate, the vibration of the heatshield caused it to rub slightly making that damn 'hum..' noise.
On the other note, I think that's why injen initially made the heat shield in rubber so it won't cause any noise.... but too much people then complained about it cracking and melting. Then they swtich it over to metal.
I just hope the heat from the headers won't cause any heatsoak.
