Gauge Pod Modification (4G Accord)
You can't fully comprehend the full pimpliness, but tell me what you think. I went through hours of smashing things, and like $200 in extra gauge clusters to get this right. Tell me what you think.
This is what it looks like at day time. No gay white faced gauges. Just the sexy gague cluster.

Come night time, this is the Indiglo behind the stock gauge face. This is truly a feat in itself. These clusters are a bitch to work with.

Powered by the stock illumination built into the gague cluster, it's fully adjustable through the car's dimmer swich. This is a custom install of UV-LED's, and florescent painted glowing needles. The camera doesn't capture the deep purple, but it's definitely pimp.

First you get your Indiglo faces. $35 off e-bay, and the speedometer numbers are off.

Then you shave them off with a dremel. Ironing board as workbench optional. Trick is to not melt a hole in the gauge face.

Now I cut the needles off the stock gagues, trick is to preserve the needle's metal core and the gauge face. After you do this, you can place the indiglo gauges behind. Trick also is to shave down the backside of each stock gauge face to allow more light to come through.

Now for the UV lights. Here's the old bulbs.

Here's the old bulbs next to the new. They don't really fit.

I made them fit.

Here's the UV glowage. The UV is the pimpliest color.

Paint the needles and re-assemble everything. Properly calibrate the needles, and you're in business. Easy once I figured it out.

Same here.
Nice work though. It looks like you had to go through way too much trouble though. I don't know Accord clusters, but a Civic seems like it would have been a whole lot easier.

Tru that, but that is a good idea for anyone willing to put that much effort into a guage cluster....I think it is a little buit to much time for me just to make my needles seem like they are inside a club downtown....

It started with just the indiglo gauges, but the numbers were off on the speedometer. Then I said "why not put it behind to hide the white gauge face." So I bought a Dremel and went nuts.
