I've got a 96 ex and I'm trying to figure out if there's any good reason why I couldn't install an aftermarket ignition coil...I've got an external coil (can never remember if it's the Hitachi of the TEC distributor...whichever one is the external coiled one).

If I could do this, anyone got any reccomendations? All I can think of off the top of my head is either Accel or MSD...any other ideas?

 

I would say to not do it at all.. Won't see any improvements

Are you from Canada? Because EX's should have the internal coil (Hitachi distributor).

 

****...typo...I honest to god meant to type LX...fukn feel like a n00b of biblical proportion now...it's a b2...no vtec...external coil...

ummm..yeah, you can install an aftermarket coil.

is that all you were needing to know?
