You'll know when the wastegate opens if you have an open dump. Sounds almost like a loud lawnmower on crack or something If you are on high speed you can check out my vid and listen for it. http://www.5thgencivic.com/video/z6turbo.avi

On my next setup I want the wastegate sound to be deeper, how can I accomplish that, larger piping? I had an open dump, it was friggen loudd, but I always wished it was deeper.

I think open wastegate is one of the meanest sounds out there Theres nothing like an openwastegate ripping down the track.

Uh actually yeah you are "spoolin" if your wastegate is open!! The turbine doesn't stop spinning if your wastegate is letting off pressure. It just stops the turbine from creating more "boost". Hence the term "waste" in wastegate. F' jackasses that think they know it all and then the followers. Typical of H-T, "LostCRX" you really are lost in this topic. Do you even know what your talking about???

by spooling I was referring to "create more boost" I know the wheel doesnt stop spinning , that is why your staying at your desired boost,,, but the turbo doesnt create more boost, hence the sound is quiter from the wheel when it doenst create boost, that's all!

does channeling it into your downpipe lose horsepower? I mean sure you'll technically lose a little... but how significant is it?
