Default DIY: OEM thin gasket questions

Wassup fellas?
How many here have done the 2-layer OEM gasket trick?
What are your inputs on it?
Anyone have any horror stories? Some people swear by it.
This is for my gsr motor.
Lastly, besides copper is there anyhting better to protect the wear??

Gacias.

i've never ever had a problem using 1 or two layers. i always use one and just spray copper on both sides...and yeah i reuse old gaskets.

One layer?
Which layer do you choose?

I know with the 2 layer you take the middle one out.
Any other inputs?
Thanks.

I have done it without problems, but it was a crutch because of time when I could not mill the block, or the pistons were not the cc's I wanted. The 3 layer is superior, but it cost more to disasemble and machine. Always keep a minimum of .035 piston to head with gasket.
