Default thinking of selling my built engine, need some advice.

So I've been considering selling my R and the general consensus is I would be better off and probably make a little extra money by selling my built engine separately and going back to stock.

So my questions are these:

Where is a good place to get a legit stock R long block probably..I would just need the head, block and intake manifold.

How much would I be paying for that?

Also what do you guys think I should ask for my engine?

It was built by Import Builders using a GSR block and my R head. It's basically the big 2L all motor build.. cams, pistons, sleeved, P&P, Toda header, Carsound cat, injectors... you get the idea and also the ECU with the tuned Hondata S100.

The engine has about 10k on it and was tuned at Intercrew up in Dallas and put down 214/147 uncorrected. I paid around 12k for everything so..what? ask 10k? Any ideas?

Well thanks for any help and advice you guys have for me! I appreciate it!

10k?? really, is it just me or does that seem a little high for a built motor that has been used?

There is no way you will get 10k for your motor.

How much is it pushing out? What numbers do you have for the motor? The reason ITR motors go for around 4000-5000 is because they are stock. People usually enjoy building things themselves. That's why a heavily modified car would probably not bring in as much money as a stock car.

People will tend to stay away from used built motors when they are looking for motors. I would not expect to get much for your motor. Probably between 5000-6000 is reasonable.

I agree that it would get you no more than 6k...
It is a nice motor, but nobody will pay 10k for a used built motor like many of the others have been saying...

When I buy used card parts, I expect to pay around 1/2 what it costs new. You should try asking $6,000 for it.
For a new engine, your acura dealer can get them. I dont know where else.
