Default To all D-series Turbo ninja's...

I wanting to boost my Z6. I'm fairly new to the D series and to turbos as well. I had planned on swapping until I came across Spade's thread on the d-series. Now, I'm sticking to my SOHC VTEC.

My questions are these:

How possible is it to reach 300 whp with a D16Z6?

What setup would be optimal?
I know that I'll need to sleev and upgrade the internals, but what is the best setup? I want it to still be streetable because it will hopefully remain a daily driver. What combinations of rods/pistons would you recomend?

yeah definately would recommend a T3/T4 turbo. I'd have the block sleeved, but posting might work. New rods/pistons. You should be able to make it with that.

forged internals, lower the compression to around 9:1, good engine management and it can be done

Hey, thanks guys. I was planning on building the bottom in anyways, I was just wondering what brands you guys use or like. Are there any companies products I should stay away from? What have you guys found to be the most successful?

CP piston and Eagle rod do the job...

Talk to Earl on this forum he gives good prices but even more important, a good service !

and to get 300 whp you have to get good injectors, 550 will be fine, and a good EMS like AEM or Hondata... try to see the preference of your local tuner before buy anythings !

300WHP D16 = rods, pistons, T3/T04E 50 trim, good standalone and supportin fuel system, and good tuning

What everyone else said, but personally if my power goals were only 300whp I'd raise the compression to ~10.1. Help spool that hybrid turbo up faster.

Thanks for the info! I'm fairly new to turbo's but, I love my engine. I want to do it right so I won't have to do it again! I've heard horro stories of crappy products and I juat want to make sure that my Z6 doesn't spend anymore time in the shop than it has to.

Try Endyne RollerWave pistons for the D16, they bump compression up to 9.6-1, but a good tuner should not have a problem helping oyu get the power you want. Also get rods.

Better add Kamikazesol to that list. My new engine goes in in two weeks and it will be pushing atleast 300 on hi boost.

Sorry guys but I just started a new job so I haven't even started my car in a couple of weeks.
Plus, my daughter is starting to move around.........a lot so I have to keep my eyes on her.

Good news:
On April 3rd, if all goes well, I am dynoing my car for the first time on 13psi (Probably more) on the stock block just to see what the bitch will do. It is tuned well by myself (with the lookover by Boosted-Hybrid) so I am not worried.
If it blows, it blows because on the weekend of April 17th, the transformation begins, I promise.

I have almost all the parts. I am only waiting on the Intake Manifold at this point. I will see how it does then I might sell the turbo and get something else.

Just thought I woudl give a heads up since I had a second.

There's a few more you can add to the list. Some are really close to 300 too.

GITWIDIT will be pushing that w/his new turbo setup

5thgencivic has 274 at 16psi (dropping back down to 14)

http://www.turbod16.com/viewtopic.php?t=4140

and then theres a few good ones on that list

Well I'm not a ninja, but I do have a turbo d-series.

Next thing on my list is a quaife LSD and maybe some jimfab traction bars. After I play around with my stock Z6 I will might throw some rods/pistons in there. I have been looking into eagle rods and endyn pistons, but I'm not too sure what I will end up going with or if I am even going to build it.
