I was wondering if this would give me any improvement in my stock air intake system? *im on a budget*

yes it'll give you an improvement over the stock intake. there's some debate over whether or not a brand name intake is more effective over a generic one.
AEM makes cold air induction systems and can be picked up for round $100- 150.00
if you're on a tight budget i'd just buy that one.
we're talking a slight modification in horsepower.... more air comming into the engine = more horsepower.

If it was such a great idea wouldnt honda already have one on the cars. These things have been around for 20 years and are basically already utilized in your car look at your stock sysytem.
well i would say buy it it will help on sound more than anything i think. but it will add a few horses. also where does the o2 censor go in these after market intakes
why not just buy a OEM K&N replacement filter? I figure for the 4hp you get from a short ram alone, you could get close to if not equal to that with just the replacement filter?
just my op

It has been proven time and time again that the OEM drop in filter does nothing. Only advantage it has is that it's reuseable(sp?).

Go with the name brand. Documented "power gains" and hopefully most are carb legal. That way if you live in an area with a lot of cops who like to write tickets, you can avoid that whole mess.
