A few questions...didnt want to make 2 threads (comptech tie bar)
1. Does comptech sell just their lower tie bar? I like the re-enforcement aspect of this better even than a beaks kit, and i need a lower tie bar. Does anyone make something similar?
2. I see alot of people removing their factory airbag steering wheel and putting in a race wheel, and not using harnesses of any kind. Does this not bother you? I mean if it is a daily driver, are you not worried about crash safety? And even still if you run harnesses, but no cage, are you not worried about the risks there? It just doesnt seem logical to me to have a wheel with out the cage/harnesses. But i've wrecked one car, so i like safety

for the ek, no. maybe the type r would work, since they already come with a 22 mm bar.
you can check them out here: http://solar.innercite.com/com....html
i would not tamper with the airbag, rather get a DC5r wheel or a CTR.
btw, are you running a sway bar?

i dont currently have it installed. I have a type R bar waiting on install, but need some sort of re-enforcement for the subframe. I really like the way comptech combines this with the lower tie bar. Would the Type-R fit? Does anyone know?
and yes, its for an EK

Our Type R tie bar will not fit the EK chassis. We do manufacture a swaybar/tie bar combo for the EK chassis though. You can purchase the parts separately but it is more cost effective to run the entire kit. Our swaybar is a 22mm as well, only ours is 3 position adjustable so that you can tune the handeling that much more. If you have any other questions feel free to call or email me.
